Association Director To Speak

Supt. Harvey Burnett Exec. Director of the Peoria Assn. Of Pastors and Pastor Of The New Bethel Church Of God In Christ, will be speaking Thursday evening July 16th at the Morton Square Park at 6:00 PM.

It was 2 years ago that the Pastor's Assn. sponsored it's historic march and prayer rally from Peoria's City Hall to Morton Square Park. Since then crime stats in the Peoria area have been at all time lows, and community groups have participated in assisting citizens at every level within the community. Recently peace and safety has been threatened by a resurgence in the murder rate and enhanced crime statistics. Much of this has been blamed on the current economic crisis. In addition, the Mayor has recently promoted "Concealed Carry" as a proper response to crime with no or little regard to statistical information outside of the gun lobby. Pastor Burnett plans to address this issue, speak a gospel message and much more during this event.

The event is sponsered by the Resurrection Power Church Of God In Christ (Pastor Odell Dye) located at 2500 N.E. Madison, and is part of their evangelist outreach ministries. Everyone is invited to participate and attend.
